crating tupelo
1 for shipment to north america
Tupelo
1 was shipped in two segments. this is the body of the guitar
being packed for it's long journey
it took 3
hours to crate tupelo 1 using lots of wood, nails and staples...
the neck
being placed in it's crate. everything was wrapped in foam, the objects
which live inside the guitar were shipped with the neck.
important insciptions
must be made to ensure that tupelo1 comes to no harm on the journey.
en route to the crating facility, we almost got
killed in a car wreck, when a cab smashed into the side of our vehicle.
thank god the guitar made it across the pacific without incident.
tupelo 1 arrives in the usa
tupelo 1 arrived into memphis one
hot august morning. at one stage it looked liked it would not arrive at
all
the problem was that the
airline wasn't sure which city the crates were in.
Were they in San Francisco or were they in Chicago?
the day before the conference was to begin, the crates were nowhere
in sight... panic stations!!
thanks to the wonderful work of our fantastic customs agent LeRoy
Pettijohn, we got tupelo1 to the art show on the day it opened.
